Renew Phase 2 Giving

Renew Phase 2 Giving Goal: $4.2M
Progress 56%

As of November 11, 2024

In April 2023, we launched our “Jumpstart Giving” month emphasis. Our giving continues with this movement toward our giving goal, led by our church family, to give generously to this project. Consider how you can participate with us as we trust in God for His provision.

When giving online, select “RENEW” from the designation options. Checks can have the “Renew” in the memo field.

Renovate

Renew Phase Two is a renovation project of our Worship Center and west parking lot over the next few years. Our Worship Center was built in 198,3 and has stood as a remarkable structure through the years. However, all can see that there are some things in the Worship Center that are just broken, or at least worn out. Our pews, carpets, and acoustical treatments are in need of repair and renovation. The west side parking lot will also be renovated to deliver a welcoming and remarkable impression. The church believes it is essential to be good stewards of the facility that previous generations built, and to provide a functional and attractive facility for the generations that follow.

Update

Although the church has made minor updates over the years, the undertaking of this renovation project will touch several areas to the interior spaces of the Worship Center. The renovation will incorporate a more contemporary color palette, new seating, and a better foyer layout, among other updates. The platform will be brought forward, and a new cross aisle will make it easier to move around the auditorium. The lighting system will be replaced with a brighter and cleaner LED system that requires less maintenance. The bathrooms will also be updated to a more contemporary look.

Communicate

From the very beginning of our church, McGregor Baptist has, correctly and biblically, our highest priority on congregational worship and the study of God’s Word. Renew Phase Two will give us the opportunity to take next steps in how we use the room, and how the room’s features and technology serve those highest priorities. A deliberately designed cross aisle, brighter LED-based lighting, improved bathrooms, updated sound equipment, and center screen on the platform are overall room improvement features. While there will be no money borrowed and no set timeline, we will seek God and trust Him to provide for the need to accomplish these projects.

Participate

In the years leading up to 1983, the Body of Christ meeting on McGregor Boulevard sought the Lord’s leadership and His provision for the construction of our Worship Center as well as the Faith Building. As the years passed, and the needs of the church changed and grew, our Joy Building, Hope Building, Grace Building, and Joy Annex were added. Most recently, many needs were met and a number of areas updated through Renew Phase One.

Now, once again, we are challenged to seek God and trust Him to provide for the need of renovating and updating our Worship Center to communicate the Gospel and provide a gathering and sending point for decades to come.

There is no set timeline, but the more quickly we reach our funding goal, the more realistic our projected budgets will be. Let’s pray together, love one another, give sacrificially, and celebrate together the victory that lies ahead!

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Many of the design choices have yet to be made. Since we are going into a fund-raising period with an unknown start date, we didn’t want to get ahead of ourselves in making choices that could change by the time the project begins. The basic concept is firm, and our budget dollars are based upon this design in 2023 dollars.

Tap on each question to open/close each response.

We will begin the project when we have raised the necessary funds. Since we won’t be borrowing any money for the renovation, we will be looking to have all the money in the bank before we begin.

Our contractor, who does 100’s of renovations annually, says that his best estimates are 3-4 months.

We are blessed with a large Fellowship Hall that we will be able to occupy and continue to worship during the renovation. Obviously, things will look somewhat different, but we are grateful that we have a great space for worship.

The current thinking is that we will have mostly pews on the main level and theater seating in the balcony, all of which will be coordinated in color and wood tones. Our desire is to have padded seats and padded backs.

We believe so. It appears that the plumbing is in place in one of the back rooms that would allow us to add a family bathroom. Only when we begin demolition will we know for sure.

While a wonderful idea, it is outside the scope of this project.

Raising the foyer ceiling and making the foyer larger are outside the scope of our current plans to renovate. Raising the ceiling and making the foyer larger would be a costly endeavor, which puts it out of the scope for our project. We will seek to update the color palette and coordinate with the overall new design of the Worship Center. Along with the foyer we will be renovating the bathrooms with new fixtures, flooring, and paint.

Pray and give. Pray that all is done for the glory of God and that the necessary funds are raised in God’s perfect timing. We are simply trusting God for this and seek this update to honor Him.

Our main contractor is Church Interiors, and they, very likely, will be hiring some local subs to do part of the work.

The orchestra will be on the platform to the right of the drums. With the lower stage extension on the steps, we will have more room on the platform.

Yes, all lighting in the Worship Center will be LED lighting. This will allow you to see your Bibles better. We will also have a new speaker system, sound console, choir monitors, a center screen as well as other lighting improvements.

The console, along with the pipes, will be going away in the renovation. We will still hear great organ sounds at times in our worship music that will be provided by keyboards and other methods as it has been for many years.

YOU DID IT!

Thank You
