Christians are commanded to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17). Jesus assumes His disciples will pray (Luke 11:1-3). Yet, what is prayer? How should we pray? Can we pray to Jesus or the Father alone? How can McGregor Baptist Church be more active in prayer? Join us for a six-week study of Scriptural prayer. Attendees will have the option to join a new, biblically equipped prayer ministry of McGregor Baptist Church. Come and be a part of “The Ministry Of Prayer”.
Taught by Jonathan Bowman
Room: H185 (Hope Building)

How can you know for sure that you have eternal life? The Apostle John wrote his first letter so that believers could live with confidence, joy, and assurance in their walk with Christ. Join us on Wednesday nights for a 7-week study through 1 John as part of our Journey Together Discipleship Ministry. We’ll explore the marks of true saving faith—obedience, truth, love, and spiritual discernment—and learn how to live as those who truly know God. Come to be strengthened in your faith and equipped to stand firm in a world of spiritual confusion.

One of the primary reasons that the early church took off is that Paul loved people the way that Jesus loved them, unconditionally and sacrificially. He loved people with courageous, unconditional, sacrificial love that put the eternal best interests of others above himself. It takes courage to love people the way that God loves us. For Paul, love was the supreme virtue in the Christian life and the primary source that fueled their courage in the face of relentless opposition.
Unless you love people as Jesus loves you, you will never be willing to put your faith on the front lines. So dare to love people like Jesus loves you.

At the heart of the biblical letter of James lies a significant connection between faith and works. The author of this short letter is concerned not only with what Christ-followers believe, but also with how those beliefs shape our actions. Genuine faith in Christ and the gospel produce authentic life change; a Christian’s evidence of their faith is shown through their spiritual walk.
Join us this fall in Women’s Ministry Bible Study as we dive in and explore the book of James, which contains practical wisdom for putting faith into action, thus impacting every area of life.
