Whereas the Bible charges Elders with the tasks of teaching and leading the church, the Deacons’ role is serving the congregation in whatever practical needs that may arise.
Being a gift to the church, the role of Deacon is that of a servant, whose primary responsibility is to safeguard the health and unity of the church by meeting the logistical needs of the church and the practical needs of those at risk of marginalization (Acts 6:3-4, James 1:27). Our deacons are here to serve our church family in many different areas, including administering the Benevolent Fund, The Handyman Ministry, The Stephen Ministry, and various types of care for our widows.
